If you are searching for a nurturing community which will instill a love of Christ while offering a challenging curriculum, you have come to the right place! By considering St. John the Baptist School for your child’s education, you have found a place where a dedicated faculty will partner with you to walk this part of the journey together. The values you hold dear at home are mirrored in the school setting, providing the seamless garment that will wrap your child in the warmth of God’s love as well as provide an excellent educational foundation.
Because we are a preschool through eighth grade building, our students experience a continuity of community that enhances their sense of our school family. Additionally, our practice of Faith Families, mixed-grade student groups who attend school Mass together and interact socially, creates connections and builds bridges between different age levels.
A rigorous curriculum is a hallmark of St. John the Baptist School, with a dedicated staff who meets weekly for professional development in order to maintain the high standards for which we are known. In addition to using the Iowa Assessment to gauge our effectiveness, St. John the Baptist also employs easyCBM (a curriculum-based measurement produced by Riverside Publishing) as a means of evaluating the growth of our students. The use of reliable data to objectively assess our progress as a school is vital for our growth.
Children also learn valuable lessons outside of a classroom and, with that in mind, St. John the Baptist School offers opportunities such as no-cut sports in fifth through eighth grades (volleyball, basketball, track and field, and cross country), band (in cooperation with Winfield School District 34), student council, spring musical, yearbook, math team , and Scouts. Our aim is to partner with you to produce well-rounded citizens, aware of their ethical and civic responsibilities as well as their academic opportunities.
We invite you to come see for yourself the difference a St. John’s education can make. Visit us to understand what we mean when we say, “We teach more.” Call for a tour, or simply stop by when you are in our neighborhood. Our welcome is heartfelt and constant as we open our doors and our hearts to our prospective families. Allow us to put you in touch with an SJB family who can answer questions from the perspective of a current parent. You won’t regret the choice to send your child to SJB!
